besides wanting to have sex with their singer, i am really digging the Dum Dum Girls' debut record cuz it's got some pretty catchy girl-group/beach boys pop influenced indie rock going on. No it isn't reinventing the wheel...but who the fuck wants that anyways? at my age all i want from a record is either catchy songs (this album has that) or for it to remind me of something else i used to like (covers that as well). if i was a pompous douchebag and was to score records this would probably be a 6 or so...but i am not. instead i can only say that if you enjoy The Pains Of Being Pure at Heart, Camera Obscura, or any other girl vocal lead retro indie rock bands of recent years then you are probably gonna enjoy this record too. so yeah, it's worth a download.
